EUROLARGECARNIVORES
The primary goal of the project launched at the end of 2017 is to facilitate communication between various stakeholders working with large carnivores – livestock keepers, hunters, nature conservationists, and decision-makers, among others.
The nature conservation programme of WWF Hungary was expanded in the last year: the primary goal of the EUROLARGECARNIVORES LIFE (LIFE16 GIE/DE/000661) project launched at the end of 2017 is to facilitate communication between various stakeholders working with large carnivores – livestock keepers, hunters, nature conservationists, and decision-makers, among others.
This is important not only on a national but an international level, as 88% of the 33 large carnivore populations found in Europe expand across borders. As each country has a different approach to their large carnivore population management and conservation, another aim of the project is to collect and showcase the best practices to a smaller, professional audience as well as to the wider public.
