Corporate Engagement Manager

(full-time, based in Budapest)

 

WWF is the world’s largest conservation organization, founded in 1961. We’re active in over 100 countries and have over 8000 employees. WWF Central and Eastern Europe is responsible for leading and to a significant extent implementing WWF’s efforts to preserve, restore and sustainably manage the natural values of the Danube-Carpathian ecoregion, which we also call the Green Heart of Europe. We are working across political borders through an ecoregional approach based on model projects, influencing policy, networking, capacity building, communication and crisis response.

MISSION

The Corporate Engagement Manager plays a key role in engaging the corporate sector in supporting WWF’s work and mission in Hungary, including financial and fundraising support, communications, advocacy and conservation. The Corporate Relations Manager will play a key role in developing WWF-Hungary’s and WWF-CEE’s corporate relations by working with companies and the WWF network to establish corporate relations in Hungary, fostering international and regional partnerships.

The Corporate Engagement Manager is a member of the Corporate Fundraising Unit within the Engagement and Resource Mobilisation Department and contributes to the development of new corporate partnerships, the management of existing corporate partnerships and the local coordination of international/regional cooperation.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Leading and managing WWF-Hungary’s corporate engagement.
  2. Building and managing local partnerships in Hungary, i.e. local, regional or multinational cooperation with multinational, regional or national companies.
  3. Working with the WWF network to manage, develop and extend existing international partnerships in Hungary and, where appropriate, in the Central and Eastern European region.

Detailed tasks and responsibilities

  1. Leading and managing WWF-Hungary’s corporate engagement.
  • Strategy and planning: develops local strategy, leads the implementation of regional strategic and annual plans and monitors the corporate engagement of WWF-Hungary and WWF CEE.
  • Acts as the main contact point for local partnerships or international and regional corporate partnerships in Hungary or with companies in Hungary.
  • Works with communications and conservation staff to raise awareness of the environment and WWF’s work in the corporate sector.
  1. Building and managing local partnerships in Hungary
  • Cultivates and nurtures relationships with current hungarian corporate donors, ensuring effective account management.
  • Develops offerings for potential corporate donors, including funding proposals, presentations, and MoUs.
  • Coordinates proposals and offerings with relevant conservation, marketing, and communication colleagues.
  • Understands partner needs and develops mutually beneficial plans translating into market advantage for the partner, and funding, communications, and conservation benefits for WWF.
  • Conducts due diligence on potential corporate partners following WWF criteria.
  • Tracks performance and fulfill partnership reporting needs.
  • Represents WWF-Hungary and its narratives at business conferences and events
  1. Working with the WWF network to manage, develop and extend existing international partnerships in Hungary
  • Works with relevant local and regional leaders to develop products, tools and campaigns relevant to WWF-Hungary’s corporate engagement.
  • Cultivates relations with and serves as WWF-Hungary point of contact for relevant corporate engagement actors in the WWF Network
  • Liaises with WWF Network corporate engagement partners on possibilities for extending international corporate partnerships to Hungary.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge and Education

  • Relevant university degree (marketing, communication, business or social sciences)
  • Interest and openness to learn about and understand WWF’s environmental priorities
  • Experience
  • 4-6 years of professional experience in marketing, communications and/or public relations
  • Proved management experience is an asset
  • Sales and corporate cooperation experience
  •  Degre or proven experience in business sustainability is a strong as

  • Proven skills in communications, marketing, and project planning
  • Excellent networker with strong interpersonal skills and client orientation
  • Exceptional customer service and presentation skills
  • Strong computer literacy and tech-savvy
  • Fluency in English (written and oral)
